Engine 56-12

2010 Pierce Arrow XT

This piece of apparatus is first due on all fire types. 56-12 formally Engine 22 of the Union Fire District of Rhode Island was a tanker and EMS chaser engine. Purchase in 2025 by Station 56 OFD as an upgrade for Engine 56-10 and replacment for Engine 56-11 has become out first due engine. With a new engine/rescue from Pierce soon to go into production the front line service life of 56-12 is short lived until the new one arrives. However with an aging fleet and unexpected retirement of Engine 56-11 due to mechanical issues the department had to take steps to ensure out fleet was ready to serve the community.
